After participating in several after-school climbing camps starting at age six, Sera found that climbing was a fun and challenging way to spend her free time. Her talent for the sport earned her a spot on the Ironworks Teen Team in July 2004, the youngest member of the team at only 8 years old.
Shortly after, Sera caught the attention of Zero Gravity Team as they were training at her local gym, and joined in November 2004.
Scot introduced Sera to competitive climbing and has helped her realize her potential in Bouldering and Rope Climbing. Becoming a member of Zero Gravity has deepened Sera's passion for climbing and given her a chance to apply both her dedication to training and tenacious spirit to competing.
In February 2005, in Colorado, Sera placed sixth at the 2005 Nationals and displayed tremendous promise as the youngest series participant in her first competitive season. She was awarded second place Nationally for both Difficulty and Bouldering during the 2006 season and was featured on the cover of the Kids of Climbing 2006 calendar and in American Girl magazine. In February of 2007 Sera became the 2007 National Bouldering Champion.
After a currently undefeated season and splitting her training time between gyms in Berkeley and San Francisco, Sera is looking forward to competing at this years National Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan with the rest of her team.
